Idlebrain 4/5
I had never seen such a wonderful movie that deals with the straightforward nature of a man and complex nature of a woman so perfectly. Everybody must have gone through these moments in their lives and you are sure to get nostalgic watching some moments in this movie. The entire movie is excellent and extremely engaging except for 10 minutes (in second half from the breakup to the scene where other female proposes him). It takes guts and tremendous conviction makes a movie like Ye Maya Chesave from the director, producer and hero (It was Naga Chaitanya who set this combination up). All three of them should be appreciated for making this movie happen. Ye Maya Chesave movie should do extremely well in multiplexes and A centers. I wish/hope/want this movie to do well in B/C centers as well. This film has all the ingredients for a movie to remain as a timeless classic. Go and watch it!!…Read full review

Greatandhra 3.5/5
This is the movie that should be watched not with eyes but with nostalgia. This is the movie that should be understood not with brains but with hearts. Purely, this movie appeals those who have crossed their Graduate studies, Engineering studies, MBBS, MCAs and MBAs. This master piece pulls the senses of audiences with its magic despite they sit with resistance to get lured. It’s the film for class audience those are in the age group 25 ++. The second half is better than first half and the magic worked till the last. The last 15 minutes is very predictable for Telugu audience but still captivating. The closing of the film is very convincing and creative. Appearance of Trisha and Simbu in last scene attracts attention and boosts up interest.

It’s a very genuine script and honest attempt. Goutam is so lucky to find producers for making a film of this sort without demanding for so-called commercial elements which have been the part of cine-religion…high voltage fights, exposing heroines and vulgar dialogues. This movie gives strength for new writers those pen scripts with honesty deep from their hearts.

‘Ye Maya Chesaave’ is an example for a standard of a movie when it goes on to screen directly from heart without any adulteration….Read full review

All love stories are fundamentally the same..but the way it is narrated makes it different. For the first time the hero of the film makes you feel that the outcome of the film, the ending is not important. Naga Chaitanya plays his role of a man hopelessly in love and at the same time yearning to make it in his career. He projects the right amount of intensity and helplessness when his girl says no, then yes, then no and beats around the bush. He just sparkles.

The conflict between the duo is so real and beautiful, it’s like you don’t want the confusions and solutions to end. Krishnudu slips into his role with ease and Sanjay Swaroop is more than a pleasant face. The cinematographer brings Kerala right into your theatres, music is good.Watch this film for the way Goutham Menon tugs at your heart strings with his visual poetry and simple dialogues. Watch it once, you won’t mind watching it again….Read full review

Telugucinema 3.5/5

After a long time, here comes a very refreshing and beautifully told romantic story. Ye Maaya Chesave is engaging and touching. Tamil director Gautham Menon weaves magic on the screen with some heart touching scenes, poignant moments, beautiful frames, and realistic performances. Rarely we do see a love story told in realistic way with casual dialogues on Telugu screen. Gautham Menon’s film scores there in big way. Story per se is not new but the director’s touch of class in presenting it, narrating it in matured manner grabs us. Anyone who craves for sensitivity in movies would love this one! And those who have fallen in love or tasted romance in their live even more like it! Gautham’s eye for visual beauty, extracting honest performances from the young lead cast, sense for simplicity and realistic approach strikes the chord with us. What this reviewer really liked most is the way the director ha captured the longings of young couple, their confusions and emotional chasm. In most of our Telugu film love stories (or for that matter Tamil movies also), young couple’s desires are shown in cheap manner, here he presents them so delightfully and naturally….Read full review
